The man was stabbed in his lower back by two lads

According to a Metro UK report, a man was stabbed in the buttocks during rush hour at Leytonstone tube station, London.

Trains went through without stopping after the attack at 6.52pm, with passengers describing how they could see blood on a bench and police and paramedics on scene.

The victim, in his thirties, was taken to hospital with injuries which aren’t thought to be fatal.

Three male and one female suspects then made off via Fairlop Road, police said.

One man posting online described how he saw ‘two young lads’ run off after stabbing someone in an apparently ‘unprovoked’ attack.

Twitter user Laura D said the victim ‘seemed alright, he was sitting up and talking’.

Metro reporter Georgia Diebelius said she saw people being led out of the station from her train which didn’t stop, as well as a bench cordoned off and covered in blood, a paramedic’s kit still nearby and tissues on the floor.

Two women who appeared in their twenties were crying while talking to police, she said.

Eastbound trains are not serving the station while the police carry out an investigation.

The tube station in east London is part of the borough of Waltham Forest.

In a statement, the Met Police said: ‘Police were called to Leytonstone BR Station at 6.52pm on August 3 to reports of a stabbing.

‘Officers attended and found a male aged around 30s on the east bound platform suffering from a stab wound to the buttocks.

‘The victim was taken to a central London hospital by London Ambulance Service. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

‘The suspects, three males and a female made off via Fairlop Road.

‘No arrests. Enquiries continue.’
